PARAMPARA

Shri Hari and Vayu always bless all living creatures in this universe without discrimination. It is Human beings who discriminate against one another. Since God is Creator, Protector and Destroyer of the Universe, all things known and unknown to humans are under His supreme and sole control. Shri Vayu incarnated in the form of Shri Madhwacharya who has expounded these facts irrefutably with pramana. He has also shown an easy way to sadhakas who follow his principles to attain "Moksha", the ultimate bliss by following his teachings of Panchabhedha and Tarathamya. Many Peetadhipathis and Scholars in his parampara have written treaties and commentaries on his Moola Granthas, so as to make them easily understandable. The following are the more renowned of such Matadhipathis.

SHRI JAYATHIRTHARU

SHRI VADIRAJA TEERTHARI

SHRI SRIPADARAJA TEERTHARU

SHRI VYASARAJA TEERTHARU

SHRI RAGHAVENDRA TEERTHARU

One of the most prominent among these Matadhipathies in Madhwa parampara is Shri Raghavendra Threertha Swamiji revered and worshipped as Kamadhenu and Kalpavruksha of Kaliyuga. By reciting the sloka "Poojyaya Raghavendraya Sathya Dharma Rathayacha, Bhajatham Kalpavrukshaya Namataam Kaamadhenave". A staunch devotee of Swamiji, Sri Appannacharya has said that by mere reciting the Astakshara Manthra "Om Shree Raghavendraya Namaha" one can fulfill all his aspirations. An illiterate person called Venkanna became a Pandit and also Diwan by reciting this Astakshara manthra. As ordained by Shri Hari Vayu, Shri Raghavendra Swamiji blesses all living beings without discrimination. In view of this Mrithika Brindavan have come up in many areas / layouts of Bangalore to have his Sannidhan as close to his large devotees as possible.

PATH TRAVERSED – THE FORMATIVE YEARS

Among Layouts of Bangalore formed by BDA, BEML Layout is a big and beautiful one situated in the outskirt of the City. Many devotees of Shri Guru Raghavendra Swamiji from different developed localities of Bangalore started settling in this Layout from early 90’s. Since they settled in a remote locality they desired to continue their devotion to Sri Raghavendra Swamiji by forming a small group called :"Shri Raghavendra Seva Samithi”and celebrated Shri Guru Raghavendra Aaradhana in the year 1994 in the residence of Shri P Susheelendra.

As the first Aaradhana inspired devotees and their number increased, the Aaradhana in 1995 was celebrated on a larger scale in the residence of Shri Deshmukh. During this Aaradhana Shri Pavamana presented a painting of Shri Gururaja which was taken in a procession around the main streets in the layout. After the Aaradhana this painting was taken to the residence of different devotees on Thursdays for Bhajan and Pooja. After a few weeks of such Bhajan programmes it was strongly felt that this program should preferably be continued in one permanent place.

Keeping in view the above, a team comprising of following 12 members facilitated by Sri Pratap and Sri Ramesh PC consulted Sri.Arunachalam, the result of which is the present renovated sannidhana

The renovation was made during Shri Raghavendra Vardhamanotsava sapthaha. During the first year in the absence of regular pooja arrangement Sri C.Bheemarao & Sri Anandathirtha took care of the day-to-day Pooja braving adverse weather conditions and meagre facilities made available at that time. Further in the abscence of cooking facilities the Dhanurmasa seva was attended to by Sri P.Gopalakrishna, Sri P.Susheelendra, V.Raghavendra & Sri Narasimha Alur.

As a continuing divine grace, an Anjaneya Vigraha worshipped for more than a century at Dharwad was presented to the Samithi by Sri BLM Desai of Mysore for installation and pooja at the proposed mutt. This premises has since been made holy by the visit of many Swamijis of various mutts who have performed pooja, accepted paada pooja and blessed devotees. Many scholars and pandits have delivered lectures and upanyasas. Musical programmes to spread Haridasa sahithya, Harikatha and other Gnana Karya have taken place here continuously. Aaradhana, Krishna Janmastami, Narasimha Jayanthi, Raamanavami, Navarathri ” Dhatri Homa, Kaartheeka Deepotsava, Dhanurmasa Pooja, Madhwanavami and Purandhara Daasara Aaradhana etc are being celebrated onwards with increased participation by devotees year after year.

PATH TRAVERSED – THE NEW GARBHAGUDI

Immediately after Sriman Madhwanavami celebrations in March 2001, the Bhoomi pooja for Garbhagudi was performed by Shri Narahari couple attended by a large number of devotees. This Bhoomi pooja was not only for the foundation stone for the Garbhagudi but also for sea changes and realisation of the long felt dream of the Raghavendra Swamy devotees of this area yearning for a Shila Brindavana as a hub of all Religious activities of this area.

With the help of Shri Rajkumar, Ideal Homes society Director and a staunch devotee of Shri Raghavendra swamiji and Shri Ramakrishna Ballal, a close discipie of the reigning Swamiji of Shri Manthralaya Mutt, we were successful in getting the consent of Shri Shri Shri 1008 Shri Sushameendra Theertha Swamiji for bringing Moola Mruthika from Manthralayam and installing the same in the Shila Brindavana at our premises. As a prelude to this, the Swamiji kindly visited the site to bless the smooth and timely completion of the Garbhagudi construction. After going round the place with Manthrakshathe at the construction site he told that the construction will be completed within 90 days. Swamiji also blessed us to perform the pooja in the mutt with the traditions of Shri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt, Mantralayam parampara.

Swamiji’s divine blessings became true and the construction activities of the Garbhagudi was completed within 90 days. Thanks to the generous help from Shri Krishna Reddyji of Hyderabad (Rs.2,50,000/-), M/s BECS, Sri GH Ramachandra, Sri HG Hanumantharayappa and Sri Hari Burli and others who made very generous and timely contributions.

8th July 2001 is a red letter and golden day for the Trust because on this day His Holiness Shri Shri Shri 1008 Shri Sushameendra Theertha Swamiji performed the “Prathisthapana” mahotsava of Shri Lakshmi Narasimha, Shri Anjaneya (Vyasa prathistitha) and Shri Gururaghavendra Swamiji Shilaa Brindavana. The programme details are as follows :

PATH TRAVERSED – AVATHAR THREYA MANDIRA

Shri Raghavendra Seva Samithi had proposed initially to install Vigraha of Shri Mukhya Prana infront of Shila Brindavana on the model of Shri Manthralaya Kshethra. For this purpose the idol of Shri Anjaneya was procured and provisionally placed in the mutt premises. Therefore after the Prathisthapana of Shila Brindavana with Vyasaprathisthitha Anjaneya from Dharwad a separate temple for this Anjaneya became necessity. Therefore, the Trust decided to construct an “Avathara Threya Mandira” with this Anjaneya as the main diety with Panchaloha vigraha of Shri Hanuman, Shri Bheemasen and Shrimadacharya. Accordingly, this temple was built in a record time of 45 days by the generous help of Sri Ravindranath Salagundi, Sri Narasimha Alur & Purohith parivar in memory of late Sri P Gopalakrishna, the founder of Sri Raghavendra Seva Samithi.

0n 15th February 2002 Shila vigraha of Shri Hanuman and Shri Mukhya Pranadevara “prathisthapana” by His Holiness Shri Shri Shri Lakshmeendra Theertha Swamiji at the newly constructed “Avathara Thraya Mandira”. On the same day evening Swamiji inaugurated “Madhwa Saptharathrotsava” and “Madhwa Ankana”. Swamiji blessed the devotees and desired that Gnanakarya should continue in the Madhwa Ankana. The details of the programme are as follows :
